THE JOANNE WARD DANCE ACADEMY

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

PAYMENT

Invoices for classes are distributed in class at the end of each term.

Payment can be made by Cheque, BACS or Cash.

Payment must be made by the second week of term.

Accounts unpaid by the fourth week of term will incur a 5% surcharge

Any cheques returned unpaid will incur a £7.50 handling charge.

JWDA reserves the right to refuse payment by cheque if this form of payment has previously been unsuccessful.

JWDA reserves the right to suspend classes until overdue payments are received.

Multiple Child Discount will apply to all families with a second or any subsequent child of a family attending classes. 10% will be discounted from the total bill due.

CREDIT NOTES

Credit notes will be issued to cover cancelled classes as a result of teacher absence or injury. All credit notes will be deducted from the following terms fees.

Instances of long-term sickness or injury of a student will be addressed on an individual basis.

TIMETABLED CLASSES

Timetabled classes are invoiced on a termly basis and payment will be due in line with the terms and conditions of payment (See 1. Payment above)

EXAMINATIONS

Invoices for examinations and additional examination coaching will be issued on an ad hoc basis.

All examination invoices must be settled within 14 days of the invoice date as fees will have already been paid on behalf of the child by JWDA.

Invoices unpaid by 14 days will incur a 5% surcharge.

All examination fees must be paid before the date of the examination in any event.

NOTICE PERIOD

If a student wishes to give up a class JWDA must receive written notice at least half a term prior to the end date.

Late notice for exceptional circumstances will be addressed on an individual basis.

In the event of a student leaving JWDA with outstanding fees JWDA reserves the right to pursue recovery of the debt by all legal means.

CANCELLATION OF CLASSES

Occasionally due to circumstances outside of our control, fire, weather, natural disasters, transport, pandemics, it may be necessary to change the venue, date or time of a class. Where the occurs JWDA will notify parents/guardians as soon as possible by venue notice board, email, telephone or word of mouth.No refunds will be given.

JWDA reserves the right to cancel a class anytime up to and including the date of the class. Should this occur a credit note will be issued for the following term.

MISCELLANEOUS

All teachers are fully qualified through the Royal Academy of Dance, CRB Enhanced Cleared, hold valid insurance and are fully aware of the Child Protection Policy (available upon request).

Due to the nature of teaching a performing art it is sometimes necessary to physically correct positions of the body, where necessary this is conducted with the utmost care and professionalism.

JWDA LIABILITIES

JWDA do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.

JWDA is only responsible for students while they are in class. Students are not supervised outside of class.

JWDA do not accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury arising from errors or omissions on the registration form at the time of enrolment.

JWDA do not accept liability for death or personal injury to any student attending class, with the exception of such an injury being caused by negligence of any member of staff.

JWDA so not accept responsibility for any loss or expense due to circumstance outside of our control including transport, fire, weather, natural disasters and worldwide pandemics.

JWDA holds Public Liability Insurance.

JWDA does not hold responsibility for emergency treatment. All students should be able to self administer medication or have a parent/guardian on site in another room. We are unable to administer any medication. 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS

These Terms and Conditions along with any enrolment form signed constitute an agreement between the signee and the JWDA.

Attendance to classes is deemed to be acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.

To inform JWDA teachers of any illness or injury that may affect the student's full participation in class.

To ensure that we have the correct contact details for you.

To read the venue notice boards and websites notices to be fully aware of any up and coming events.

In the event that we consider you to be in breach of the terms and conditions or that your child is disruptive to other pupils or teachers we reserve the right to exclude your child from any class within JWDA.

JWDA hire premises from a third party; therefore all staff, students and parents/guardians must abide by the codes of conduct and regulations as set out by the third parties.

Photography and Videography of students taken by JWDA may be used for publicity or reference. If you do not wish your child's image to be used for these purposes you must inform JWDA in writing.
